Robert Vernon Helms is the one holding the basketball. He was the son of James Robert Helms and Olive Murphy. He was born 11 Oct 1901 in St. Francois Co., MO, and died 06 May 1946. He married Nancy Edith "Sugar" Partin, daughter of John Partin and Ida Frances Beasley. He is buried in Southern Memorial Park in Dade Co., FL.
